Biden has signed an executive order to reopen enrollment for the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.

The enrollment period will be overseen by the Department of Health and Human Services on healthcare.gov and will run from Feb. 15 through May 15, CNN reported.

Thirty-six states use the insurance marketplace, while 14 other states have their own systems and are expected to follow the order, The New York Times reported.

The final enrollment period had closed under former President Donald Trump’s administration in December, The New York Times reported.

About 15 million Americans do not have health insurance and could qualify for it through the Affordable Care Act, the Kaiser Family Foundation discovered, and reported by multiple media outlets.

Almost 9 million could have free or subsidized coverage if they make up to $51,000 annually for individuals and $104,800 for a family of four, CNN reported.
