NEW CARLISLE, Ind. — A 14-year-old boy is in police custody after authorities discovered the body of a missing 6-year-old girl in New Carlisle, Indiana, multiple news outlets are reporting.
According to WNDU and WSBT, Grace Ross, 6, of New Carlisle, was found dead in the woods near Chapman Street shortly before 8:30 p.m. Friday, just two hours after she went missing. St. Joseph County police have not revealed a cause of death but said an autopsy had been planned Sunday, WSBT reported.
Investigators arrested a 14-year-old suspect in connection with the case, but police have not provided additional details about the boy or whether he has been charged, according to the news outlets.
The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit continues to investigate the death, WSBT reported.
