California man makes stop in Tennessee as he paramotors in every state

MILLINGTON, Tenn. — A California man who travels the country to raise money for charities made a stop in Tennessee.

Memphis' WHBQ-TV found out what about his travels is so unique.

They say the view is best from the top.

For Harley Milne, that couldn’t be more true.

Milne is a paramotorist, traveling and flying across all 50 states.

“This really is the trip of the lifetime,” Milne said.

Along the way, Milne hopes to raise $50,000 for charity.

“If you think that the sport is cool and what I’m trying to achieve is fun, the idea is that it inspires individuals and companies to donate to local charities in the state that I’m flying in,” Milne said. “I’d like to raise at least $1,000 in each state.”

We caught up with Milne on a very windy Saturday morning in Millington.

There, he showed us just how much planning and preparation goes in to each trip.

“I had a tremendous flight out at the Grand Canyon,” he said. “I was fortunate enough to be allowed to take off from the airport there.”

“Sedona out in Arizona was another amazing place that (was) just an extraordinarily fun flight to do that day.”

And at every stop, he’s gets a chance to get out and explore what each city has to offer.

“My mom was a big fan of Elvis, so I went ahead and traveled to Graceland yesterday and I probably posted over 100 photos for my mom,” Milne said.

We suggested Beale Street and barbeque before he heads south to Mississippi.

Milne started in Hawaii in November.

He told us he plans to end in Alaska, sometime between June and July.
