James Anderson, a plumber for more than 20 years, has helped thousands of older and disabled residents with free emergency repair services, CNN reported.

“From the beginning of 2020 and through the pandemic we have worked seven days a week to deliver what the people need,” Anderson, 53, wrote on social media. “We have faced the fight with you and continue to do so until the end, we will never abandon you.”

He founded Disabled and Elderly Plumbing and Heating Emergency Response in 2017 to help those in need. He has helped 10,279 families since starting.

The group uses crowd-sourced funding to cover the costs.

“I do it because it makes me feel gooey inside,” said Anderson. “To help people to live a lot longer and help them not suffer.”
