Adam Jenne, of Cape Coral, told WFTX he believes the rule requiring to wear face masks on a plane is silly, so he opted to follow the rule in a silly way. A passenger took a video of the incident on the plane and shared it with WFTX. In the video, you can see a flight attendant tell Jenne, “You’re going to have to come off the airplane. We’re not going to let you travel.” She goes on to explain that he has to leave the plane because he is not in compliance with the airline’s mask policy.

This is not the first time he has flown with women’s underwear as a mask. Jenne told WBBT, “Every single flight has been met with different reactions from the flight crew. Some with a wild appreciation, others confrontational.”

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires all passengers on all transportation networks in the United States to wear facial coverings, including in airports and on planes. On its website, the TSA says “Passengers without a mask may be denied entry, boarding, or continued transport.”

Jenne told WBBT he was refunded for his flight with United and plans to fly Thursday with Spirit Airlines.

On its website, United Airlines says passengers must wear face masks “with no vents or openings that fully covers their nose and mouth.” In a statement to WFTX, United Airlines said: “The customer clearly wasn’t in compliance with the federal mask mandate and we appreciate that our team addressed the issue on the ground prior to takeoff, avoiding any potential disruptions in the air.”
