Pregnant Florida woman accused of fatally shooting younger sister in New Jersey

A pregnant Florida woman is accused of fatally shooting her younger sister on Tuesday at a New Jersey home after an argument about money, authorities said.

Angielly Dominguez, 27, of Jacksonville, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Omelly Dominguez, 21, of Little Ferry, at the younger woman’s home, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said in a statement Wednesday. Angielly Dominguez is also facing a second-degree charge for possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose and third-degree hindering her own apprehension, Musella said.

Little Ferry police responded to a report of a stabbing at the residence at about 4 p.m. EDT, NJ.com reported. When officers arrived they found Omelly Dominguez slumped over a couch with a fatal gunshot wound to the head, the website reported.

Officials with the New Jersey State Police arrested the elder Dominguez on the New Jersey Turnpike near mile marker 31 in Cherry Hill, state police spokesperson Sgt. Alejandro Goez told NorthJersey.com. She was turned over to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, Goez told the website.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the victim’s 16-year-old brother said when he came home from school at about 3:40 p.m. EDT, he overheard his sisters arguing about money, followed by a gunshot, NJ.com reported.

Police said several surveillance cameras showed the elder Dominguez leaving the house before officers arrived, NorthJersey.com reported.

According to the affidavit, Angielly Dominguez’s boyfriend told Jacksonville police on Monday that she had stolen his white Ford Mustang and all of his guns, the website reported. New Jersey troopers found five guns inside the trunk of the vehicle, 12News New Jersey reported.

According to her Facebook page, Omelly Dominguez attended Union City High School and studied nursing at William Paterson University, NJ.com reported.
