Jamie Lynn Spears seeks to be conservator for sister Britney Spears’ fortune

Jamie Lynn Spears is looking to control more of her older sister’s vast fortune.

The younger Spears is petitioning the court to allow her to be the custodian for Britney Spears’ estate, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Jamie Lynn Spears is already named a trustee for her superstar sister’s finances. That determination was made two years ago.

She is now asking to move the assets fo the SJB Revocable Trust into accounts at Fidelity Brokerage Services and make her the custodian of the accounts, the BBC reported.

If the filing is granted the money would move and would need a judge’s OK to withdraw funds. The trust was set up for Britney Spears’ children in 2004. If something would happen to the singer, her sister would be in charge of the funds for her nephews Sean and Jayden Federline, the Times reported.

Currently, the sisters’ father, James “Jamie” Spears is petitioning to be the sole conservator of Britney’s estate, after he temporarily stepped down because of health issues, People magazine reported.

Britney Spears’s conservatorship was recently extended until Feb. 1, 2021, People magazine reported.

She is asking the courts to allow Jodi Montgomery, the conservator who took over for her father, to remain in the position.

The conservatorship was started in 2007 after Britney Spears started acting erratically following her divorce from Kevin Federline. She also lost custody of her children, the BBC reported.
