In a news release, the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office said its deputies stopped Brian Gilgert for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, deputies said Gilgert “got out of the vehicle and walked towards the riverbank and attempted to dispose of something by throwing it towards the river. It bounced off a tree and did not go in the water.”

The substance was tested and determined to be half an ounce of methamphetamine inside a Tupperware container, KBOI reported.

Gilgert was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, attempted destruction of evidence and possession of paraphernalia. He was taken to the Idaho County Jail on a $2,500 bond, according to jail records.
