Manfred Thierry Mugler, the iconic French fashion designer, has died at age 73.

According to The Associated Press, Mugler’s social media accounts shared the news of his death Sunday.
“It is with deep sadness that the House of Mugler announces the passing of Mr. Manfred Thierry Mugler,” read a post on the Mugler brand’s official Instagram page. “A visionary whose imagination as a couturier, perfumer and image-maker empowered people around the world to be bolder and dream bigger every day.”
“May his soul Rest in Peace,” added another post from Mugler’s personal account.
No further information, including what caused Mugler’s death, was immediately available.
Mugler, whose brand launched nearly 50 years ago, was known for his structured, often futuristic designs, the AP reported. Stars such as Diana Ross, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Cardi B and Beyonce wore his pieces over the years, according to the news outlet.
