An elementary school teacher in Minnesota is accused of sending lewd Snapchat images to four children, authorities said.

Jordan Michael Kochevar, 27, a sixth-grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary School in Hibbing, was put on administrative leave after being charged with four counts of distributing material that relates to or describes sexual conduct to a child via electronic communication, WCCO reported.

Each count carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison and a $5,000 fine, KBJR reported.

According to a complaint, an officer at the Hibbing Police Department received a voicemail on June 20 regarding a video sent to a 10-year-old child.

The video shows a man nude from the chin down, according to WCCO.

Officials learned the images were sent to four children -- a 14-year-old and three 15-year-olds, the television station reported.

Hibbing Public Schools Superintendent Richard Aldrich said “the school district is aware that an allegation has been made against Jordan Kochevar.”

“Immediately upon learning of this information, the school district reported to the appropriate authorities and took other appropriate action,” Aldrich said in a statement emailed to the Hibbing Daily Tribune. “Mr. Kochevar has been placed on administrative leave from his position with the district. The District will be investigating this matter further and taking action as warranted.”

According to the complaint, an investigator met with Kochevar on Tuesday, the newspaper reported. Kochevar said on the night he allegedly sent the images, he “was intoxicated,” according to the complaint.

Kochevar was hired by the district in 2016, KBJR reported.
