Norwegian Cruise Line is getting ready to set sail from U.S. ports in weeks and the company is setting rules for who can sail on its ships.
The cruise company announced Monday that all guests and crew members will be required to have COVID-19 vaccinations, following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s latest instruction to the industry about the necessity of vaccines, Reuters reported.
Norwegian officials sent the company’s plans to the CDC on Monday, CNBC reported.
The government agency had set a no-sail order last year after numerous COVID-19 outbreaks on a variety of ships.
The company will also cap the capacity of its ships at 60% at the start then raise the limit of passengers by 20% every 30 days.
Norwegian plans to start sailing from its U.S. ports on July 4, The Wall Street Journal reported.
It isn’t the only cruise line preparing to resume embarkations after more than a year of sitting idle.
Royal Caribbean is planning to start some Caribbean voyages in June, Reuters reported.
