Blake Wolfe spent 2,184 days in school since starting his first day of kindergarten in 2009, WJW reported.

“There were so many days that I just wanted to make up an excuse and stay home but my mom and my dad just gave me that extra push and coming to school and seeing my friends again it just made it all better,” Blake said.

Although he might have missed school on snow days, which are excused, he never missed because of illness.

“Blake is a really good kid. He knew that school was very important and that we believed that he should be there every day,” mother Dana Wolfe said.

Blake not only attended classes; he also played the drums in the marching band as well as lettered in basketball and track.

He said the last year, because of remote learning prompted by the coronavirus pandemic, was probably the most challenging.

“Not seeing my friends was the hard part but I just got through it. There was one year left and no need to stop now,” Blake said.

He plans to attend Blufton University in the fall.
