It has been a year since the world was rocked by the sudden death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna Bryant.
The father and daughter were killed when their helicopter crashed on a California hillside on Jan. 26, 2020. Bryant, his daughter and seven others on board the aircraft were killed, USA Today reported.
The final report on the crash has yet to be released, but the National Transportation Safety Board is scheduled to release the report on Feb. 9 that will shine a light on the cause of the crash and any safety recommendations that may need to be instituted to prevent a similar incident, USA Today reported.
In advance of the NTSB’s report, the panel has released interview transcripts, emails, text messages, photos, weather reports and video footage that captured the events leading up to the deadly crash.
It is believed that the pilot, Ara Zobayan, was disoriented due to heavy fog, KCBS reported.

Meanwhile, the world is remembering the reach that Bryant had on and off the court.
Nike released an advertisement last year, narrated by Kendrick Lamar, called “Better,” which ask all of us to follow in Bryant’s footsteps and demand excellence in all aspects of our lives, from sports, to teaching, to being a parent and to inspiring change, SB Nation reported at the time.
