Mayweather reached out to the Floyd family and they accepted his offer, Leonard Ellerbe, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, told ESPN on Monday.

“He’ll probably get mad at me for saying that, but yes, (Mayweather) is definitely paying for the funeral,” Ellerbe told the sports network. “(Mayweather) has done these kind of things over the last 20 years.”

Ellerbe also told ESPN that Mayweather did not want to speak out his gesture.

Mayweather, who won titles in five different divisions during his career, has paid funeral expenses for other people. He footed the bill for former boxer Genaro Hernandez, who died of cancer in 2011, ESPN reported.

Mayweather defeated Hernandez in 1998 to capture his first world title.

George will be buried in his hometown of Houston on June 9, family attorney Ben Crump told CNN.
