Six snakes found in Pennsylvania Target’s bathroom

ALIQUIPPA, Pa. — Animal rescuers have taken custody of reptiles found in the men’s room of a Target in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania.

The snakes were found over the weekend, and were described as healthy and active, WPXI reported.

Rescuers said they will be “overwintering them” because their brumation space was interrupted, but then plan to release them into the wild.

Dekay’s Brownsnakes, also known as Northern Brownsnakes, are considered common and do not bite, according to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. The snakes grow to 9-15 inches long and eat insects, earthworms, slugs, snails and fish.
