Original report: The tool that helps Americans track their stimulus payments on the Internal Revenue Service website has been temporarily taken offline, according to the agency.

“We’re reviewing the tax provisions of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, signed into law on March 11, 2021,” the IRS said on the website.

The IRS also announced that the tool can no longer be used to try to track the first and second stimulus payments.

“All first and second Economic Impact Payments have been sent and Get My Payment will no longer provide information on those payments. If you didn’t get the first or second payment or received less than the full amounts you were eligible for, you may be eligible to claim the 2020 Recovery Rebate Credit and must file a 2020 tax return even if you aren’t required to file.”

The most recent payment will not be used to calculate the 2020 Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2020 taxes, the IRS noted.

The IRS suggests that those looking for the tool “Check back in a few days for an update on your 2021 Economic Impact Payment.” The agency also says you should not call the IRS for information.

President Joe Biden signed the bill into law on Thursday, clearing the way for the $1,400 checks to be sent to millions of Americans.
