According to the Knoxville Police Department arrest report, when the woman arrived home she found Michael Henegar standing in the living room. When she yelled at the suspect, police said he tried to run away, and the victim followed him.

When police caught up with him, they said Heneger was wearing a pair of black shoes with green trim, which belonged to the daughter of the apartment’s owner. Investigators say Heneger’s own white shoes were ripped and found inside the apartment near the back door.

Henegar was convicted in 2013 of exploitation of a minor by electronic means, and as a result, is required to be on the sex offender registry. When Henegar was arrested by police, they found he was wanted for violating the registry, and failing to appear in violation of the sex offender registry, WVLT reported.

In their arrest report, police said they found Heneger had multiple stolen items, including a work light, a drill, a smartwatch, and an iPad inside a child’s Scooby-Doo handbag.

The home’s owners spoke to WVLT, and told them Henegar was naked and wearing only the stolen shoes when he was found.
