Officials said Danny was moving at a speed of about 16 mph to the north-northwest on Monday, a speed and direction it’s expected to maintain “for the next couple (of) days.”

The storm is expected to make landfall along the South Carolina coast later Monday, bringing with it tropical storm conditions. According to NHC, parts of Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama could see between one and three inches of rain as a result of the storm.

“Rapid weakening is forecast after landfall occurs,” NHC officials said in a 2 p.m. public advisory.
