Wekiva holds off Harmony in 59-48 championship win

LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) — LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) -- Kyla Allison had 23 points, nine rebounds and six assists to lead Wekiva to a 59-48 victory over Harmony in the Florida 7A girls basketball championship on Saturday.
 
   Wekiva (26-5) took a 13-8 lead at the end of the first period and never trailed but needed to hold off a spirited rally from Harmony (29-3) in a wild fourth period.
 
   A 3-pointer at the buzzer from Yolizma Cupidan gave Wekiva a 36-25 advantage through three periods and the lead was extended to 13 points early in the fourth.
 
   However, back-to-back three-point plays from Rebekah Fitzpatrick helped cut the lead to 44-40 with 2:01 remaining.
 
   Harmony forced Wekiva to win the game at the line, with Mustangs hitting 13-of-14 free throws to close out the contest.
 
   Julia Ingler led Harmony with 21 points and Fitzpatrick added 12 points and eight rebounds. Cupidan added 16 points and eight rebounds for Wekiva.
