Ben Shelton returns to states after remarkable Aussie Open run

ORLANDO, Fla. -- At the Australian Open, Ben Shelton was one of three Americans to make the quarterfinals. That hasn’t happened “Down Under” since 2000.

Shelton’s trip to Australia was just his second Grand Slam appearance and he played incredibly well. He was a two-time NCAA champion at Florida and on Thursday, he returned to Gainesville to watch his No. 15 ranked Florida Gators play No. 12 Florida State at the USTA Campus in Lake Nona.

Ben’s dad Bryan is the head coach at Florida. Ben Shelton is now ranked No. 43 in the world.
