ORLANDO, Fla. — The first blockbuster signing for Orlando City will be Brazilian soccer star Kaka. Sources told Channel 9 sports anchor Christian Bruey that Kaka will sign with the Lions as the team’s first designated player.
Kaka will be loaned to Brazilian club Sao Paulo FC for the remainder of their season, before joining Orlando City for their inaugural Major League Soccer season in 2015. Kaka has long been rumored to be headed to Orlando City after spending time with the Lions last summer.
This past season for AC Milan in Italy’s Serie A Kaka scored 7 goals. He was the FIFA World Player of the Year in 2007.
