UCF’s Plumlee named AAC Offensive Player of the Week

ORLANDO, Fla. -- UCF quarterback John Rhys Plumlee has been named the American Athletic Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Last Thursday in a 70-13 win against Temple, Plumlee recorded seven total touchdowns. That ties Darin Slack in 1987 and Daunte Culpepper in 1998 for the most in UCF history for a single game. He finished 18-22 for a career-high 373 yards and four passing touchdowns. He also rushes for 37 yards and three touchdowns.

Plumlee was also given the Manning Award Star of the Week for the first time.

UCF (5-1, 2-0) visits East Carolina on October 22 at 7:30 on ESPNU.
