ORLANDO, Fla. — Hurricane Epsilon continues to meander slowly southeast of Bermuda. It is moving slowly to the west-northwest and it has lost a bit of speed this afternoon.
A tropical storm warning is in effect for Bermuda, where tropical storm conditions, in this case, are expected within the next 36 hours.'
Epsilon has reached maximum sustained winds of 110 mph. Hurricane hunters are investigating the system and continue to find strengthening signs. It is possible for Epsilon to reach a major category 3 status later today.
From tomorrow on, Epsilon will enter a less favorable area for strengthening. We expect a gradual weakening as the storm moves over cooler waters.

The extensive hurricane has hurricane-for winds very close to its center, outward only 25 miles from the center, but the tropical-storm-force winds extend 435 miles mainly north of the center.
Epsilon will pass more than 150 miles east of Bermuda. Dangerous surf and life-threatening rip currents are expected for Bermuda.
We are not monitoring any other areas across the Atlantic Basin.
