Severe thunderstorm warnings issued for Osceola, Brevard counties

ORLANDO, Fla. — Update:

Severe weather was moving through Central Florida on Monday, triggering severe thunderstorm warnings for Osceola and Brevard counties until 6:15 p.m.

Chief meteorologist Tom Terry said those counties could experience coin-sized hail and wind gusts in excess of 60 mph.

The storms are moving east, toward the coast, at 30 mph, with lightning and some gusty winds, he said.

The system will move through the I-4 Corridor and be offshore by sunset.

Central Florida’s weather is about to see some big changes.

A fall front to the north of Florida will arrive Tuesday and bring rain and a drop in temperature.

Monday will start off partly cloudy in the morning before reaching a high temperature of around 87 degrees.

There will be around a 60% chance of scattered rain and storms Monday afternoon.

After the front moves through Tuesday, the high temperatures for Wednesday will be in the 60s and 70s.

The low temperature Wednesday night will drop into the 40s and 50s for some.
