ORLANDO, Fla. — Today is giving Tuesday -- the purpose of which is to encourage people to donate to charities.
There are plenty of charities in need of your help in Central Florida, including Toys for Tots.
While things are in full swing with volunteers and toys coming in by the truckload, this year’s campaign is at risk of not reaching its goal.
With less than two weeks left, the Toys for Tots warehouse is far from full, meaning each child would get one gift instead of the five to seven gifts the campaign has traditionally given out.
Marine Staff Sergeant Ash Jacques said they are four to five weeks behind where they should be to meet their goals.
According to Toys for Tots, they need toys for newborns and teenagers the most.
