Deputies: Cocoa smoke shop owner arrested for Orange County road rage murder

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The owner of a smoke shop in Cocoa is accused of shooting a man at an Orange County intersection last week after a road range incident, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

On July 28, just after 6:30 p.m., deputies responded to the intersection of Consulate Drive and South Orange Blossom Trail for a report of an unresponsive man in a truck.

There, they found Eric Schnetzer, 45, with a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

Surveillance video from a nearby business and the red light camera at the intersection captured the entire murder and led investigators to their suspect’s vehicle, a distinct-looking Infiniti QX60.

Investigators then used additional Florida Turnpike video. which also showed the initial road rage incident, to identify 25-year-old Nael Zaben Abraham as the registered owner of the Infiniti.

The day after the murder, deputies found the car backed into a parking space at the Ignite Smoke Shop in Cocoa, which they confirmed Abraham also owned.

When questioned about the murder, deputies say Abraham claimed he was at his shop just before it happened and was never in Orlando.

Investigators disputed Abraham’s claims with statements from an employee at the shop, the store’s own surveillance video, and cell phone data placing him near the crime scene around the time of the shooting.

After getting a search warrant for Abraham’s car, deputies say they found a bullet in the glove box matching a single round that was found at the crime scene.

With that evidence, deputies were able to obtain a warrant for Abraham’s arrest, charging him with second-degree murder.
