UCF creates hotline to help parents, teachers with virtual learning questions

ORLANDO, Fla. — Virtual learning begins Monday for the more than 210,000 students in Orange County public schools.

The district has all the children learning online for two weeks and then those who selected face-to-face instruction will head into the classroom.

The University of Central Florida is also helping parents and students during this time of distance learning.

“It’s really making me have to stretch what I remember about, you know, 10th grade history or seventh grade math,” said UCF’s Pamela Carroll.

Caroll thought up an idea with several others from the college and created a parents as teachers hotline.

The hotline is free and will be staffed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
