Blue Alert: $54K reward offered for capture of man accused of killing Florida deputy

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — A $54,000 reward is available for tips leading to the capture of a man accused of shooting and killing a North Florida deputy.

Investigators are searching for Patrick McDowell, who is accused of killing Nassau County Deputy Joshua Moyers.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a Blue Alert for McDowell on Sunday. The alert is used as a request for assistance from the public following the disappearance, assault, or death of a law enforcement officer.

Moyers was shot twice during a traffic stop Friday and died from his injuries Sunday, according to the Nassau County Sheriff.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office at 904-225-5174 or 911.
