BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Two people died following a pickup truck and motorcycle crash in Brevard County on Saturday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened around 11:07 p.m. on US-1 (State Road 5) and Ruby Street.

According to a news release, a Yamaha motorcycle was traveling southbound on US-1, north of Ruby Street, when the pickup truck, a Toyota Tundra, made a U-turn and began traveling on US-1 ahead of the motorcycle.

Investigators said the motorcyclist failed to slow down to avoid the crash and hit the pickup truck’s rear.
