• 2 men lead Sanford police on chase

    SANFORD, Fla. - Two men remained at large early Monday after leading police on a chase, the Sanford Police Department said.

    An officer tried to stop a Nissan car on South Orlando Drive, but the driver fled, police said.

    Police said they deployed stop sticks, which flattened the car's tires, but the driver continued driving toward oncoming traffic and onto State Road 417.

    The car crashed between the exits for East Lake Mary and North Ronald Reagan boulevards and the men ran away, investigators said.

    K-9 units and a helicopter were used in the search for the men, which lasted more than an hour.

    No other details were given.
