2-year-old boy drowns after falling into pool at home day care in Seminole County

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies in Seminole County are investigating after a 2-year-old boy drowned at a home day care.

Deputies said they responded around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday to a home on Nutmeg Court.

When officers arrived, they found the boy lying on the floor of the home unresponsive.

Officers and paramedics performed CPR on the boy before taking him to a hospital.

Despite their life-saving efforts, the boy died at the hospital, officials said.

According to a report, the boy had wandered into a pool at the home day care.

The woman running the day care said the boy was in the water for around 1 minute before he was pulled out.

Deputies said an investigation into the drowning is ongoing.
