229 more deaths in Florida linked to coronavirus, 6K new cases

ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida reported a total of 6,148 new COVID-19 cases on Friday and 229 additional deaths statewide.

Of the latest deaths, 35 were reported in Central Florida including 10 in Polk County, five each in Orange, Seminole and Brevard counties, four in Lake County, three in Marion County, two in Osceola County and one in Flagler County.

“Coronavirus

The state’s total death toll is now 9,276 with 9,141 of those being Florida resident deaths.

The number of COVID-19 cases throughout Florida now stands at 563,285 since testing began earlier this year.
