Accused Volusia County sex offender connected to Seminole County suspect, investigators Say

Detectives say messages uncovered in a Seminole County child sex abuse case led to the Volusia County arrest on 21 child-related charges.

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Volusia Sheriff’s detectives have arrested an alleged sex offender they believed communicated with another sex offender in Seminole County.

Jeffrey Fischer, 44, was arrested on August 4 in Volusia County on 21 counts of child-related sex crimes. Investigators say he placed a web camera inside the bedroom of an underage girl and shared the livestream with another man online. The two men reportedly exchanged lewd messages about the victim.

Fischer is also accused of creating sexually explicit A.I. videos of two underage girls and three adult women.

Seminole County Sheriff’s detectives were investigating Daniel Rodriguez, 35, another alleged sex offender, when they discovered text messages between him and Fischer. They notified Volusia Sheriff’s detectives, which led to Fischer’s arrest.

Rodriguez was arrested back in May and indicted in June on multiple child sex abuse charges. Investigators say he is related to two of his victims.

Prosecutors with the 18th Judicial Circuit are pursuing the death penalty against Rodriguez because of the heinous nature of the accusations.
