Amber Alert issued for girl, 15, pulled into SUV in Titusville

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued an Amber Alert for a Titusville girl.

A black female who appeared to be between 12 and 15 years old was last seen Tuesday between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., officials said.

A man said his daughter saw a girl being pulled into a charcoal-colored SUV in the area of the 1600 block of Barna Avenue near Kings Court in Titusville, officials said.

“From what my daughter (had) seen, the little girl got snatched by her hair into the car. It definitely doesn’t seem like it was parental, so I don’t know,” said Michael Henderson.

The witness said the teenager was wearing a green polo and khaki pants. The possible victim has dreads in her hair.

Michael Henderson's wife, Rebecca Henderson, said the incident happened while their daughter was preparing to leave for school.

"I heard screaming, and I come outside thinking oh my God, my daughter," she said. "I basically got out right as the car was kind of taking off and leaving. I mean, the back seat passenger door was still hanging open."

Rebecca Henderson said her daughter helped police create a composite sketch.

"She was kicking and screaming and fighting, trying to get out of that car," Rebecca Henderson said.

Each student who didn't show up to school was accounted for, investigators said.

Police established a command center in the neighborhood. They're still trying to determine if the incident was a kidnapping.

Investigators said they haven't been able to confirm if anyone is missing.

Authorities do not have a tag number for the SUV, but did say the SUV is a newer model with a tire on the back.

Anyone with information is asked to call Titusville police at 321-264-7800 or 911.

No other details have been released.
