CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — A Delta IV rocket successfully blasted off from Cape Canaveral Thursday evening.
The rocket took an Air Force GPS satellite to space.
The launch window opened at 8:40 p.m. and launched at 8:59 p.m.
Right before the launch window started a hold was extended due to solar radiation.
The solar radiation was OK minutes later.
The rocket was originally supposed to launch in October but was rescheduled several times because of engine problems.
