Brevard County School Board, health officials discuss keeping classrooms open during COVID-19

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — The Brevard County School Board invited local and state health professionals to a meeting on Tuesday to discuss current COVID-19 trends and how to keep classrooms open.

The district has already seen new coronavirus cases since the start of the school year, and others have been asked to quarantine.

The School Board has partnered with the Florida Department of Health in Brevard throughout the process, but Tuesday was an opportunity to incorporate the opinions of other experts.

Brevard County has been back in class for about a week and has seen nine positive COVID-19 cases reported to the district. Golfview Elementary has also been closed for two weeks due to exposure.
