BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — It took two weeks and a 700-mile journey, but a Titusville murder suspect is back in Brevard County where’s she’s being held without bail.
Courtney Gibson is accused of murdering a woman whose body was found in the truck of the suspect’s car in Tennessee.
Gibson faced a Brevard County judge Thursday, and she is being charged with child neglect, tampering with evidence, and first-degree premeditated murder in the death of Anna Primavere.
Police said Gibson and Primavere had only known one another for about a week before Primavere was killed inside of a home on Trinidad Avenue.
Last month, investigators said Gibson was hired as a babysitter by Primavere’s roommate but police said his child was left alone after Primavere’s murder.
Police found evidence of foul play, including images of Gibson driving away from the area of Trinidad Avenue with a mattress on the roof of her car.
When the mattress fell, police said Gibson burned it on the side of the road.
When police located Gibson at her parents home in Lebanon, Tennessee, they said Primavere’s body was in the trunk of her car.
Police said they are still working to determine the exact motive for Primavere’s murder.
