TITUSVILLE, Fla. — Titusville police have released the name of a man killed during a recent home invasion and now they want to find who’s responsible for his death.
Curtis Murray, Jr., 34, was shot in his home along Rock Pit Road around 6:30 p.m. Monday, according to police.
Officers initially responded to a report of shots fired at a residence and found Murray, Jr. inside with a gunshot wound.
He later died at a hospital.
Investigators said two suspects entered the house in the 500 block of Rock Pit Road and held Murray and a child at gunpoint in an effort to steal their belongings.
Police said they believe Murray, Jr. was shot during a fight with the armed suspects.
The two men left the scene soon after the shooting and are still at large, according to police.
Wednesday morning, Titusville police held a news conference and released images showing two persons of interest in the case:
Investigators said the child who was also inside the home at the time of the shooting was not hurt.
Detectives believe the victims were targeted and it was not a random act of violence.
