MELBOURNE, Fla. — A 36-year-old Melbourne man, Walter Davis McCoy, died Monday after being struck by a Jeep Cherokee while riding an electric scooter early on Sunday morning.
Police reported that the driver tried to swerve to avoid the scooter but could not prevent the crash. The accident happened near the intersection of Croton Road and Mc Kinley Avenue at about 1:46 a.m.
The Melbourne Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Unit is asking anyone with information regarding the investigation to contact Investigator Officer Whitright at 321-616-6116.
