BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Two astronauts will perform a spacewalk outside the International Space Station this Friday, one of them doing so less than a month after arriving.
Chris Cassidy and Bob Behnken will place lithium-ion batteries on the outside of the ISS.

It’s part of a power upgrade that began in 2017, and just one of a long list of activities planned since Behnken and fellow astronaut Doug Hurley launched to the ISS aboard the SpaceX Crew Dragon almost four weeks ago.
The spacewalk takes place the same day that SpaceX will attempt to launch another batch of Starlink satellites into space from the Kennedy Space Center. Thursday’s attempted launch was scrubbed due to unfavorable conditions.
48 hours until @AstroBehnken & I step outside of @Space_Station for a #spacewalk. We're wrapping up final prep which includes “SAFER” – a device with a few minutes worth of compressed gas to help us get back to Station in the unlikely event we become a human untethered satellite. pic.twitter.com/u6qFF7c8It
