Police continue search of vacant lot in relation to a missing persons case from 15 years ago

TITUSVILLE, Fla. — The search for clues continued for a second day in Titusville on Friday.

Police are searching a vacant lot for clues released to a missing person case from 15 years ago.

Investigators believe the woman was a victim of foul play in 2007.

There are still no arrests in the case, but police said they have a person of interest.

“We’ve gotten some more information that has led our investigators to believe that we need to search every single section of that lot,” said Titusville Police Department Deputy Chief Todd Hutchinson. “So today, they are out here with some ground penetrating radar.”

Workers and investigators are searching for evidence in connection to the January 2007 disappearance of Tisa Gantt.

Gant filed a sex assault charge against a local man just prior to her disappearance.

A person of interest gave investigators a tip on Wednesday that there may be evidence in a vacant lot on DeLeon Avenue.

“Based on all the information that we’ve received since the disappearance of Tisa Gantt our investigators are concerned that she was in fact a victim of a violent crime,” Hutchinson said.

As police continue their search, Gantt’s family can only wait and wonder if anything will be found.
