Brevard Public Schools approves interim superintendent

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Brevard Public Schools has a new interim superintendent who was approved Tuesday during a special meeting.

Dr. Robert Shiller told Channel 9 he’s already had a number of briefings and conversations with the outgoing superintendent to make the transition as seamless as possible.

The move comes two weeks after approving a separation agreement with outgoing Superintendent Mark Mullins.

“My next goal is to help the board work toward their priorities and objectives that they want me to focus on … and to do an analysis of the district,” Schiller said. “My whole intent is to get it ready for a terrific, seamless handoff to whomever becomes their permanent superintendent.”

Mullins’ last day with the district is Dec. 31.
