Brothers testify against their mother in Brevard County murder trial

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — The children of an Indialantic woman accused of murder testified against her during her Brevard County trial on Tuesday.

Sheila Graham-Trott is accused of killing Kelly Brennan, who prosecutors said was having an affair with the suspect's estranged husband, former Indialantic Mayor Daniel Trott.

Graham-Trott looked on as her sons testified about their mother and her state of mind around the time of Brennan's death.

"She told me she was seeing things. She said she saw Kelly's face and she's hurt," said Creighton Trott. "She said she thought she saw her body at Mark's Landing."

Mark's Landing in south Melbourne Beach is the area where Brennan's body was discovered in February 2010.

Graham-Trott's sons earlier testified their mother was ill and suffered what appeared to be a seizure. Creighton Trott said his mother told him, "I think Kelly's hurt."

The brothers didn't think they would find anything when they drove to Mark's Landing, but they were wrong.

"We saw a body in the bushes, in the mangroves," said Graham Trott.

During testimony, Graham-Trott's defense team pointed out there were no direct admissions.

"Did she ever say, 'I think I hurt Kelly?'" asked her attorney.

"No," said Graham Trott.

But the defendant's sons also testified that their mother directed them to a vacant lot, where she picked up a bag with a purse. Creighton Trott testified that he later saw a driver's license belonging to Brennan.

"We were all in shock. We decided we want nothing to do with this," said Graham Trott.

The brothers did not call police, but instead called their grandmother, who called 911. The grandmother has not yet been called to take the stand.
