Butterscotch the cat missing after crash in Brevard County

Shy 1-year-old calico may have escaped her carrier after a crash in Mims, and anyone who sees her is asked not to chase her

MIMS, Fla. — A search is underway for a 1-year-old calico cat who may have escaped after the vehicle transporting her crashed in northern Brevard County.

Butterscotch was last seen around 6:45 a.m. Sept. 29 near mile marker 226 in Mims, according to a missing-cat flyer. Her PawBoost listing identifies the area as the southbound lanes.

The flyer says Butterscotch was being transported when the vehicle was involved in a serious crash. She may have escaped from her carrier afterward.

Butterscotch has a black, orange and white coat, with a white chest and legs. Her owner describes her as shy and says she is microchipped.

Anyone who spots her is asked not to chase her. The flyer warns that she may be frightened and hiding.
