ORLANDO, Fla. — Earlier this week, State Attorney Jeff Ashton admitted to accessing the cheating website Ashley Madison while on the job.
Now several state lawmakers are expected to ask for an independent investigation into Ashton.
Channel 9's Greg Warmoth talked with Chief Judge Fred Lauten, who said he's hurting for his friend and demanding change at the same time.

Lauten said Ashton's decision to look at the website, a paid dating service for people looking to have an extramarital affair, while using the county's WIFI was incredibly stupid and will not only affect Ashton personally but mean changes would be coming for the courthouse and the public.
"My heart breaks for him and his family," Lauten said. "We have a filter for porn so no one can go on a pornographic site and we are taking a look at those filters and what they should do for dating sites," said Lauten.
Lauten said because he's chief judge, he can't have an opinion on calls for a resignation or criminal investigation but, "As a human being, I feel sorry for the mess. It's incredibly stupid. We'll see where it goes from here."
You can watch Warmoth's full interview on Central Florida Spotlight Sunday on Channel 9.
