DELTONA, Fla. — Cows and bulls have been spotted roaming around a Volusia County neighborhood in recent weeks and it's a mystery as to who owns them.
Residents in the Deltona neighborhood said the massive animals are eating lawns and leaving droppings all over the road.
They also said how the cows and bulls got there is one big mystery.
One woman said she was heading to work Wednesday morning when she saw a herd of cows eating grass in someone’s front yard near the house’s front door.
“It was unbelievable,” said Sylvia McGree.
Several people who live on North Covington Street snapped photos of the cows and bulls over the past couple weeks.
Photos: Cows spotted in Deltona yards
Several residents in one Deltona neighborhood say they've noticed several cows in their front yards over the last couple weeks.
The photos show the animals chewing on grass on front lawns and hanging out in Chasity Cruz's backyard in the middle of the night.
Cruz said when she went outside to snap the photos, it only irritated the animals.
"I opened my sliding glass door to take pictures and they literally started shifting towards me. So I was scared so I closed the door,” Cruz said.
Residents said they can't figure out where the animals are coming from or who owns them.
“There are no cow pastures that I know of around here,” said resident Russ Heider.
“How are they getting out? You have to notice that there’s tons of cows leaving your property,” said Cruz.
Residents said they never reported the animals to authorities.
