I-4 reopens after crash at St. Johns River Bridge

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — A crash late Friday night closed the eastbound lanes of I-4 at the St. Johns River bridge on the Seminole County and Volusia County lines.

The accident happened just before midnight.

Traffic was stopped eastbound and moving slowly on the westbound side as several emergency vehicles arrived on the scene.

According to investigators, a disabled truck, sitting on the side of the interstate, was struck by a passing car. The truck caught fire.

There was no one in the truck when it was struck.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Fish Memorial Hospital in Volusia County and is expected to be OK, according to investigators.

All lanes of the interstate reopened just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
