MELBOURNE, Fla. — The Melbourne Police Department responded to two separate churches for reports of vandalism early Tuesday.
The vandalism happened at the Central Baptist Church on Country Club Road and at the New Shiloh Christian Center on University Boulevard in Melbourne.
Workers said they found spray-painted symbols and cryptic phrases at the rear of the Baptist church, and at the Christian center, two of the church vans were also spray-painted with symbols and cryptic phrases.

In each incident, the spray-painted symbols and cryptic phrases were similar.
Authorities said it is the third time in the past month that vandals spray-painted symbols and cryptic phrases on local churches.
Authorities said the ongoing investigation has not identified a specific motive for the vandalism. The Melbourne Police Department is investigating and is seeking the public's help in identifying the person(s) responsible.
