Deer breaks into Florida home, takes a swim before returning to woods

Buck found inside Florida home takes a dip before deputies get it back outside.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A deer made an unexpected visit to a St. Johns County home, and deputies had to get creative to get it back outside.

Video from the scene shows deputies herding the buck out of the home using a pool-cleaning brush.

However, the deer wasn’t finished with its adventure.

As deputies worked to guide it away from the house, the buck decided to take a swim in the pool before eventually making its way back toward the woods.

Deputies were able to safely get the deer out of the area and back into its natural habitat.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reminds residents that if wildlife gets inside their home, they should keep their distance and contact FWC for assistance.

Wild animals can be unpredictable, and giving them space is the safest option for both people and the animal.
