DeLand drug raids: Deputies seize fentanyl capable of killing 128,000 people.

DELAND, Fla. — Volusia County deputies raided three homes in DeLand Thursday morning as part of a drug investigation, seizing a large quantity of fentanyl and uncovering new information about a recent homicide, according to the sheriff’s office.

Video from the operation shows deputies using a battering ram to break down a door as they carried out the search warrants.

Investigators say the raids led to the seizure of enough fentanyl to potentially kill 128,000 people.

Deputies also recovered heroin, methamphetamine and equipment used to manufacture drugs.

The sheriff’s office says the investigation uncovered additional information about a recent homicide.

However, authorities have not yet publicly identified the homicide connected to the investigation.

The number of people arrested, their identities and any potential charges were not immediately available.
